איך עשית דבר כזה? את יודעת בוודאות איך יקראו לילד או שאפשר לשנות שם/ השם לא משמעותי לתור

לקחתי סיכון. אמרו פה באשכול שאפשר לרשום אפילו BABY אבל זה היה כבר אחרי שקבעתי את התור
קבעתי על השמות שתכננתי לתת אבל בסוף נתתי שם אחר
מקווה שיספיק להם ששם משפחה תואם. ה' יעזור
אבל אם לא הייתי תופסת תור אז - לפני כמ חודשים - יש מצב שלא הייתי מקבלת תור ומפספסת את שנת מס הבאה אז שווה הימור

לחצתי על המשך, אבל היתה איזה שגיאה (לא השגיאה הרגילה של התור נתפס כבר או משהו כזה...)

Message to U.S. Citizens: U.S. Embassy Jerusalem (June 6, 2023)



Location: Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza



Subject: Introduction of Israel Post Courier Pre-Paid Labels



Beginning on June 5, Israel Post began a new system for U.S. citizens to create pre-paid labels for the return of their U.S. passports and/or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad. All applications submitted on or after June 12 that are being delivered back to the applicant by Israel Post will be required to include the pre-paid label with the application. This applies to those who submit applications in person and to those who mail them in or submit them in the drop box.



The new cost of the courier service from Israel Post is 60 NIS. If renewing in person, you must print the confirmation page before your appointment and include it in the package of documents you submit at the interview. To start the pre-paid label process, click here or use the QR code below.











If you are renewing by mail or drop box (in either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv), you must print the confirmation page and include it with the documents you submit. The Consular Section will no longer have pre-printed delivery slips from Israel Post. When the passport is ready, the U.S. Embassy will pass all documents directly to Israel Post for delivery. Israel Post will then contact you by SMS to arrange delivery or you can check online via the Israel Post website.



The cost of the courier service from Aramex from the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem remains the same (50 NIS). If using Aramex, you will still fill out the courier slip at the time of your in-person appointment or when you drop off the passport. When the passport is ready for delivery, the courier will contact you for payment and delivery. Courier delivery fees are paid directly to the courier company. The courier will either deliver your documents directly to you or call you for pickup at one of its distribution centers.





Pick-ups are only for emergency, limited-validity passports. There is no option for pick-up of non-emergency, limited-validity U.S. passports.

   Applicants born in Jerusalem are able to request either “Jerusalem” or “Israel” as their place of birth (POB) on U.S. passports and “Jerusalem” or “Jerusalem, Israel” on Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA).  If you write “Jerusalem” as the POB on the passport and/or CRBA application, the POB listed on the passport and CRBA will be “Jerusalem.”  If you write “Israel” as the POB on the passport and/or CRBA application, the POB listed on the passport will be “Israel” and “Jerusalem, Israel” on the CRBA.  If you write “Jerusalem, Israel” as the POB on the passport and/or CRBA application, consular staff will ask you whether you prefer the U.S. passport to be printed with a POB of either “Jerusalem” or “Israel” and/or whether the CRBA should be printed with a POB of “Jerusalem” or “Jerusalem, Israel.”
3. Passport photo for the child: One 2-inch x 2-inch / 5cm x 5cm square passport photo taken within the last six months. Note: There is often no photographer at the Embassy in Jerusalem. There are multiple locations to get a passport photo near the Branch Office in Tel Aviv.
4. Marriage certificate:
   An original or court-certified copy of the marriage certificate issued by the appropriate authorities in the country in which the marriage took place. If the parents are not married, this is not required. Please bring the original and one photocopy of the document.
5. Divorce or death certificate:
   If either parent has been married previously, they must present the original or court-certified divorce decree or death certificate for all previous marriages. Please bring the original and one photocopy of the document.
6. Evidence of the parent(s) U.S. citizenship:
   The U.S. citizen parent(s) must present his/her U.S. passport (or other evidence of U.S. citizenship) plus three photocopies.
7. Passport/identification document for non-U.S. citizen parent:
   The non-U.S. citizen parent must bring his/her passport or other government issued photo identification document. Please bring the original and three photocopies of the biographic page of the document.
8. Child’s Israeli, Palestinian Authority, or other foreign passport if they have been issued one. Please bring the original and one photocopy of the biographic page of the document.
9. Original signed and dated statement that your child has not been issued a Social Security number by the Social Security Administration. Do not fill this out if your child has been issued a Social Security number. You will instead write their Social Security number on their passport application.
10. Proof of Physical Presence in the United States of the U.S. citizen parent(s):
    The U.S. citizen parent(s) will be asked to present proof of their physical presence in the United States.
    Good examples of proof of physical presence include school records, immunization records, university and high school transcripts, tax returns, and employment records. Please refer to our website to review the physical presence requirements for transmission of citizenship and ensure you are bringing sufficient evidence to demonstrate the length of presence in the United States required for your circumstances.

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Units from the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv will hold off site, open days for walk-in passport services:No Appointment Needed.

What: DS-11 passport applications (mainly for minors who need their parents to sign or first-time adult applicants).We will also accept DS-82 and DS-5504 applications through a drop box on site.We will NOT be accepting Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) applications.



When: Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM without an appointment.We will accept all applicants who are in line by 1PM.



This event will allow certain applicants who need to see us in person to come to Modi’in for interviews, take the oath, and pay. That’s right—no appointment needed on these special days! Just show up in Modi’in at the address listed above and line up to receive passport services. There is no need to sign up in advance.



If you have an existing appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem or Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv, you must cancel the appointments before you come or you will be unable to come to the open day.



This event is ONLY for documented U.S. citizens – we will not be accepting CRBA applications. You must provide one of the following documents for each applicant:



- Original Existing U.S. Passport (unless you are applying to replace a lost or stolen passport); OR

- Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad; OR

- Original Certificate of Citizenship; OR

- Original Certificate of Citizenship; OR

- Original U.S. Birth Certificate

Applicants who do not bring all of the required documents and/or photocopies of proper documents (or the printed online Israel Post courier pre-paid label or correct bank check) will be turned away and required to make an appointment on the Embassy’s website. There are no exceptions to this policy.



All passports will be returned by courier (Israel Post or Aramex) and will be received within 6-8 weeks. There will be no pick ups nor will we accept applications for emergency passports.



Please Note: We expect to have an extremely large turnout on both days, August 21-22. Wait times to apply could be anywhere between one and six hours. We do not have shade, bathrooms, chairs, or water outside of the acceptance facility, though these facilities are all available once inside for processing.Please plan accordingly.
